This large-scale robotic fabric installation reflects on the cycles of nature, their duration, rhythm, and caring reliability. Its scale intentionally includes the human body within these systems, suggesting that as nature turns through its cycles, so too do we live within these same structures. As the fabric rises and falls mimicking our own breathing, the artist invites us to witness the inhale and exhale of each other and our planet.
Being able to learn this concept through my years of science, see this system within our own history and then finally be able to feel it through movement and sound. This creation makes me feel proud of my work and excited for the next steps, as this is just the first.
This piece was created using 3D printing, laser cutting, sewing, and Arduino robotics.

Tests and critiques allowed me to see my work in different lights. Because this was such a technical setup, I needed others to tell me how it made them feel. The people I interviewed were generous enough to be completely honest with their thoughts, and as a result, I was able to change elements of the sound components

From the early stages, when I had to learn about circuits and how magnets in motors work, to the basics of 3D printing and designing. Every step was a joy, and each part of the process made me able to reach for more opportunities.
